A smaller dock connector in the next iPhone is becoming one of the most primitive features. Many rumors and reports have shown the introduction of smaller dock connector in the next iPhone. The idea of this smaller dock connector was started about sixth months ago by a famous weblog, iMore. However, then different technology blogs such as Techcrunch, WSJ and Reuters supported this idea.
According to an early post, Reuters says that Apple next-gen iPhone will have a smaller 19 pin dock connector. But this post left a question to the many Apple fans, why would Apple do that? And what will happen to all accessories available for standard 30 pin dock connector?
This question is answered by iMore that Apple will provide standard 30 pin dock adapter with the new iPhone to connect with all standard size dock accessories. However, it is not confirmed that weather Apple will include this dock adapter in the packaging of next iPhone or users will have to buy it separately.
From the blog post by iMore:
“While this seems like it should have been filed in the obvious drawer, because of all the questions we’ve been getting, and posts we’ve been seeing, iMore reached out to the original sources that gave us the new Dock connector story way back in February just to make doubly sure — and yes, there will be an adapter for the iPhone 5?s smaller dock connector that will let it work with many of the accessories designed for the old 30-pin Dock connector.”
With the smaller dock connector, Nano SIM cards and in-cell technology are other major modifications which will affect the size of the next-gen iPhone and will help Apple to make it thinner as compared to iPhone 4 and 4S. However, we aren’t sure about these things and obviously no other one also. However, it will be finally confirmed when Apple will introduce next-gen iPhone in the fall.
