Cydia Now Save iOS 5.1.1 SHSH blobs
While we are waiting for the big release of iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak for all iOS devices using Absinthe 2.0, we found that Cydia is now saving SHSH blobs / APTickets for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad on iOS 5.1.1.
So what exactly are SHSH blobs and why are they required? SHSH blob is a signature file which is verified against the Apple servers to ensure that the device is running the latest version of the firmware. SHSH blobs will help you to save your untethered jailbreak away from Apple hands in case they close the untethered jailbreak on any futures iOS update, as it will allows you to downgrade to lower jailbreakable iOS version.
