BE CAREFULL ! If you are using a iPhone 3GS BB 6.15.00 unlocked with ultraSn0w you will NOT be able to reunlock if you go to iOS6 and the come back to 5.1.1.

The current version of ultrasn0w (1.2.7) has a “bug”.

    • Jonpker says:
If you tried to restore up to 6.0 it simply doesnt work you have to shift/ alt option click update then choose your 6.0 beta software for it to successfully complete the upgrade.

    my steps:
    1. restored to 5.1.1
    2. started icloud restore (i did not let it get very far, I dont know if that matters)
    3. shift + “check for update” and point to my ios 6 ipsw
    4. done

I did everything the guide told me to do on my iPad 3.

When I installed iOS 6, I got to the set up. I set my language, region etc, but after the WiFi section, it wanted to activate it. Then it said that it couldn’t activate it, and when I connect it to iTunes, I only get “iPad” up, but I can’t do anything.

  21. Sandy says:
Ok. Nevermind my last post. I did something wrong. I hit shift+restore instead of shift+search for update on itunes when trying to install ios 6.0. I did it correctly now, and I got siri, it’s working perfect!
    • Mike says:
Yeah, but how did you “un-brick” your iDevice that was stuck wanting to get activated?
      • Sandy says:
I pressed home button and sleep/wake button for a special amount of time(can’t remember), and it got in restore mode.
  22. Jared says:
Works PERFECTLY! This will fill my appetite until October’s official release!

Small question though, how much can Apple punish us if they find out we’re running iOS 6 without being in the developer program?

    • Dmnchild says:
My guess is they prolly can figure out a way to just kill activation or some such. I was curious about this as well when looking up how to do this. I may just wimp out and get my UDID registered because with my luck Ill be away from a computer for awhile where I can not restore if they do manage to do that. I do hope they dont for those trying this method though!
  23. Pedro says:
wait a minute i tried to upgrade my iPhone 4s and in the activation page it says that i am not a register developer..
ps: i dont restore before upgrade
  24. Mike says:
It says I cant update because the firmware is not compatible. Any ideas?
    • cliff caldwell says:
the firmware probably is not compatible. lol make sure you downloaded the right version of ios6 for your specific device
  25. mergim says:
it says that i cannot upgrade to ios6 because the file has fixed software or something like that..
  26. Simran says:
Wow it’s great working on my new iPad
