How to Use Privacy on iPad / iPhone iOS 6

Earlier today, we posted about an amazing feature from iOS 6, Do Not Disturb feature which helps you to receive the alerts and notifications without even turning on the screen. This features is very helpful especially at night, however, now we will talk about “Privacy” another cool feature from iOS 6 which will help you to manage the permissions to certain applications.

As we know that certain applications need permissions, such as Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare needs to know your location, similarly certain apps also need to have access to your contacts and Photos such as Viber. When you run an app for the first time you will be prompted to allow it to access to some sort of information. But it asks you only for the first time, later, if you change your mind, you can change permissions for that specific application. That’s what “privacy” feature helps to do.

Unlike previous versions, in iOS 6, Apple has compiled all of the privacy settings for applications in one section and has called it “privacy”. Yes, you can change, edit, allow or deny permissions right from this option from settings. Simply Navigate to “Settings” > “Privacy” you will have all the options there from location services, contacts, photos, reminders and etc.  You can select any parameter and change settings for a particular app.

This gives comprehensive information about all the apps and the data they use.
